To remind myself of what I know I will forget.

There are things that I always forget no matter how much I tell myself I won't. I am sure if I were to read this even a few short months from now I will have forgotten. It may be impossible to remember how soft a newborn is, or what 'just born' smells like. I always seem to forget how stunningly gorgeous a less than a day old baby can be even with a squashed head and Mr. Magoo eyes. I am always surprised at how soon they lose that sort of beat up look and start looking like themselves, and, of course, how stunningly gorgeous their little selves are. I know I remember, but I never really remember what it feels like to have that gorgeous, sweet smelling baby heavy with comfort lay a soft little head on my chest to sleep. And how big that sleeping babe can make my heart feel.

  1. You are a beatiful mama for those sweek kids. They are lucky to have you. Such good words to describe those hard to describable first days of knowing a new baby.
