Things I like #18

Once again, I'm a day late. Whatevs. Yesterday I liked sleeping in a bit. I liked remembering to play with my kids and not just watch them from the lawn chair. I liked how excited the boy was about drawing circles with sidewalk chalk. I liked seeing the girl pick peas all by herself and then make sure everyone had some. I liked staying up late to watch a movie with the Mister and the in-laws. I liked making up what was for dinner and, more importantly, I liked the results.
Today I like the cloud cover. I like my sweet husband who got up and took care of a screaming kid at 5:30 in the morning. I like the TV for entertaining my kids when they are grumpies from waking up too early, and for how it lets me get some things done that I planned to do today. I like that I'm going to be canning tomorrow and I like that I'll have roughly 2 dozen bottles of apricots to take with me when we move again. I like the temperatures that dropped around lunch time so it was cool enough for me to go pick raspberries during naptime. I like beets, which, if you had asked me a couple years ago I would have not been able to honestly say. I love having a garden.

  1. We also picked peas for the first time this season. Ours weren't filled out like the one in your excellent photo, because they are snow peas. But I agree with your little gal that it is miraculous to pick peas right from your own garden, and it's important to share them with everyone.
